Retired Chief Operating Officer of Barnes & Thornburg LLP, a large national law firm headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana. Following the completion of his B.A. degree at Denison University, he joined the US Peace Corps and was assigned as a teacher at Port Victoria Secondary School in Kenya, where Calestous was his student. After Peace Corps, Ken earned an M. A. in Public Administration at Ohio State University and spent the first 15 years of his career in Indiana state government, where he served as State Budget Director and Director of the Department of Commerce. Following his retirement from Barnes & Thornburg, Ken renewed his connection with East Africa, serving on a number of not-for-profit boards supporting education and health services in Kenya and Uganda.
